Even with a sloppy Week 18 performance, the Kansas City Chiefs have clinched the No. 1 seed in the AFC.
With all their starters on the bench, the Chiefs were shutout in just their second loss of the season by divisional rival Broncos, 38-0. With Mahomes, Kelce & Co. resting, Carson Wentz failed to mobilize his backup squad, going 10 of 17 for 98 yards and getting sacked four times.
Despite the embarrassing loss, Kansas City had already sealed its playoff spot. With the No. 1 seed, the Chiefs have landed directly in the divisional round and will benefit from a first-round bye. After their break, the Chiefs will host the lowest remaining seed from the wild-card round at Arrowhead Stadium.

The Sporting News has all the details on what comes next for the Chiefs.
The Chiefs’ next game will either be on Saturday, Jan. 18 or Sunday, Jan. 19 at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City. The Chiefs could end up facing the Texans, Chargers, Steelers or Broncos in the divisional game. Game time is still TBD.
