Amid global uncertainties and disruptions, India continues to remain resilient, with its potential shining better than before, Gautam Adani, Chairman of Adani Group said in a New Year address to his employees.
He said 2024 was a year of extraordinary turbulence and transformations. Across the globe, elections in over 60 nations reshaped governments and altered political landscapes. Economic uncertainties swept through continents, leaving even the most developed economies struggling with stagnation and instability.
“Yet, despite these global disruptions, India remains strong…our potential shining better than ever before. In a world searching for leadership and solutions, India’s moment to rise has arrived. This is not just an economic or political opportunity, it is a historic call to redefine our place on the global stage,” Adani said.
Stating that moments of transformation do not wait for anyone, he emphasised the need to rise up to them with a vision, courage and the will to act.
Reflecting further on 2024, Adani said the previous year was nothing short of extraordinary. The group shattered financial records, faced extraordinary challenges and emerged stronger, more united and resilient than even before.
“At our core, we are fearless fighters and it is through these battles that we continue to evolve and excel. The storms of 2024 further augmented our spirits and today we stand taller because of your unwavering dedication and our relentless passion. Keep in mind that true resilience is not about surviving the chaos but transforming it into a wind that drives us forward,” Adani said in his address.
While the group’s financial position has never been more robust, Adani said his focus is laying foundations for the future. He said capital is no longer a constraint for the group but the true challenge is in deploying the funds effectively. To overcome this, he said, there was a need to prioritise on two important factors – technology and talent.
On technology, Adani said, every company must think and act as a technology company, or risk irrelevance.
“Scaling effectively demands more than just implementing software tools. It requires embedding a technology-first mindset into the very fabric of our organisation. This is not optional, it is essential,” he said.
“Each one of us must commit to becoming a technological fluent, not as a task to check off but as a way of thinking. In the race of relevance, technology is the race track and leadership is the stride that ensures that we finish first,” he added.
Speaking on talent, Adani said talent was not about credentials, it was about the drive to adapt, innovate and lead.
In 2025, the group, he said, will nurture in-house talent by introducing dynamic internal job rotations, rigorous training programs and pathways for growth.
“Our goal is to unlock the full potential of every individual. The greatest investment we can make is not just in systems and strategies but in unlocking the limitless potential of our people,” he said.
