Texans running back Joe Mixon missed time with an ankle injury caused by a hip-drop tackle earlier this season, but he avoided the same fate on Sunday.
Mixon left the game after being tackled by Dolphins linebacker Jordyn Brooks on a run in the second quarter and was able to return a short time later. Head coach DeMeco Ryans said on Monday that Mixon’s condition did not get any worse overnight.
Ryans said Mixon “will be fine” as the team moves toward their Saturday road game against the Chiefs.
The Texans will be hoping that Mixon is more productive in that game than he was on Sunday. Mixon ran 12 times for 23 yards and caught five passes for 33 yards in the 20-12 Houston win.
