The prestigious postseason honors awarded by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches featured numerous names familiar to Galveston County high school basketball followers.
Earning all-state team accolades from the TABC were La Marque’s Jasiya Johnson in Class 4A, Hitchcock’s Maleek Clark in Class 3A, and O’Connell’s Roderick Dozier Jr., Derrick Kirks Jr., Jarrius Smith and Kevon Lankford-Cunningham in the TAPPS Class 2A ranks.
On the girls basketball side, Hitchcock’s Kimora Carroll was an all-state pick in Class 3A
In addition to the all-state honorees, making the all-region teams for the TABC were Dickinson’s David Chong and Clear Springs’ Madden Hill in Region III-6A boys, Friendswood’s Dyllan Baker in Region III-5A boys, La Marque’s Brendan Harris and Je’Caryous Oliver in Region IV-4A boys, and Hitchcock’s Elijah Sherwood in Region III-3A boys.
For the girls, Santa Fe’s Hannah Doerre and Friendswood’s Helen Byrd were all-Region III-5A, and Hitchcock’s Kyleigh McDaniel was all-Region III-3A.
