Country singer and rapper Colt Ford, 54, was hospitalised in Mesa, Arizona, after suffering a heart attack following a performance.
Country singer and rapper Colt Ford, 54, has been hospitalised after experiencing a heart attack following a performance at Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row in Gilbert on Thursday night.
Ford is currently “in stable but critical condition,” according to a statement from his publicist to USA TODAY on Friday afternoon.
According to the report, he is being treated in an intensive care unit in Mesa, southeast of Phoenix.

This isn’t the first time Ford, born Jason Brown in Georgia, has faced health issues. In May 2023, he revealed his diagnosis of the autoimmune disease Myasthenia Gravis, which affects muscles in the face, eyes, and throat, with no known cure. He also battled eye cancer and underwent surgery about three years ago.
Ford, described as “country’s preeminent independent maverick” on his website, is known for writing credits on Jason Aldean’s hit “Dirt Road Anthem” and blending country and rap music.

His upcoming tour includes a show at the Primm Valley Casino Resorts in Nevada on Friday, followed by the Wake the Lake Country Festival 2024 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, on Saturday.
