SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Spenser Braaksma, Worthington, earned a diploma in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, cooling and refrigeration; and Emily Van Maanen, Doon, earned an Associate of Applied Science in horticulture technology from Southeast Technical College during its May 3 commencement.
MOORHEAD — Morgan Niehus, Pipestone, is among more than 750 students at Minnesota State University Moorhead who will receive a degree during the spring commencement program May 10, in the university’s Nemzek Fieldhouse. Niehus will receive her degree in speech, language and hearing science.
SEWARD, Nebraska — Lukas Stapek, Fulda, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history on May 4 from Concordia University, Nebraska. Stapek was one of more than 475 students to earn undergraduate and graduate degrees during the ceremony.

Deb Burma, recipient of the Distinguished Service Award, presented the commencement address. A sought-after author and speaker who appears frequently at women’s retreats, conferences and other ministry events, she is a contracted author for Concordia Publishing House. Burma has authored Bible study books, Christian living books, retreat kits and devotion books. She reminded graduates to be true to their identity in Christ and true to the person they are becoming, according to his purpose.

MANKATO — Minnesota State University, Mankato awarded 2,373 degrees to 2,133 students at the end of the spring 2024 semester.
