Coldplay has revealed that they have beaten their carbon emissions goal on their eco-friendly tour. In a statement, the band revealed that they reduced their carbon emissions by 59% during their Music of the Spheres world tour. In 2021, Coldplay stated that they aimed to reduce their carbon emissions by at least 50%. The band used a dancefloor that generated electricity from movement, powered shows with bicycles, made sets from bamboo, and much more. “We’re happy to report that direct CO2 emissions from the first two years of this tour are 59 per cent less than our previous stadium tour in 2016-17, on a show-by-show comparison,” reads the statement from Coldplay. They continued, “As a band, and as an industry, we’re a long way from where we need to be on this. But we’re grateful for everyone’s help so far.”
