CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – Cleveland State University is cutting three of its NCAA sports programs to reduce the athletics budget.
The sports getting cut are wrestling, softball and women’s golf.
“It is a tough day for Cleveland State Athletics,… “The student-athletes and coaches in the impacted programs have been an important part of the Cleveland State community, and the decision today is not a reflection of the commitment or passion they, our staff or our alumni have to our program.”
CSU said it is not discontinuing any of its other 15 athletic programs.
