CLAYSBURG — Claysburg-Kimmel found itself down by 15 after one quarter but rallied back to within two points in the fourth before suffering a 47-41 loss to Southern Fulton in high school girls basketball on Friday.
Bailey Tipton drilled six 3-pointers and racked up a game-high 24 points for the Lady Bulldogs, which fell to 6-13.
At halftime, Claysburg honored the 2000 District 6 Class 1A championship girls team that defeated Bishop Guilfoyle, 45-43, for the school’s only district title in girls basketball. That group advanced to the Final Four of the state playoffs before losing a tight contest to eventual state champion Saegertown.

Everett cruises
LOYSBURG — Northern Bedford trailed by just one in a low-scoring first quarter, but were outscored by 16 in the second stanza off a 47-29 defeat to Everett.
Alyssa Yeatts was the lone Lady Panther to reach double figures with 12.
Everett avenged a loss from earlier in the season and improved to 11-6 while Northern Bedford fell to 7-11.

Tyrone topped
TYRONE — Tyrone was down three at halftime, but a nine-point scoring differential by Greater Johnstown in the third stanza handed the Lady Eagles a 43-36 loss.
Alayna Woomer fronted Tyrone, which was outscored 16-7 in the third quarter, with 15 points.
Tyrone fell to 9-9 while Johnstown improved to 12-6.

MARTINSBURG — Central had trouble keeping Westmont Hilltop close in the first and third quarters of what ended up being a 44-29 loss.
Marah Dickson registered 12 points to lead the Lady Dragons, which were outscored 27-12 in the decisive two quarters.
Westmont upped its mark to 10-5 while Central lost for the 16th time in 19 games.
