Anthony Johnson is the new CEO of design-build firm Clayco.
BERKELEY — Construction giant Clayco has named a company veteran to be its new CEO.
Anthony Johnson has taken over from Russ Burns, who retired from the company Dec. 31. Russ had been with the company for nearly 20 years and will become its chairman of its board of advisors, according to a release.
Johnson, who most recently led Clayco’s industrial business, has worked for the company since 2008.
“Russ Burns has been a transformational leader for Clayco,” said Bob Clark, founder and executive Chairman at Clayco. “In his time as CEO, Clayco has rapidly expanded to become one of the largest builders of technical, mission critical projects in the United States, and we are beyond grateful for his contributions.
Chicago-based Clayco, which has a large footprint in the St. Louis area with an office in Berkeley, also announced this week that the company is launching a business unit focused on building data centers. The company said it already has 57 underway across the country.
