The fictional Walsh family’s Spanish Revival home in Altadena remained unscathed, even as properties next door and across the street succumbed to the blaze.

The Eaton fire has spared the iconic Walsh family house from Beverly Hills, 90210. Nearly half the other homes on its picturesque Altadena block, including the two immediately to the east and the pair directly across the street, are gone. But the classic Spanish Revival property remained intact when The Hollywood Reporter visited on Thursday afternoon — except for a covering of ash, as the blaze currently threatens Mount Wilson Observatory in the Angeles National Forest to the north.
The Eaton fire has so far damaged or destroyed an estimated 4,000 to 5,000 structures, including the residence of Mandy Moore and the beloved local Bunny Museum. By January 9, it’d topped 13,000 acres. Multiple deaths have been connected to the inferno.

The so-called “Casa Walsh,” famously home to twins Brandon (Jason Priestley) and Brenda (Shannen Doherty), has long been a pilgrimage site for fans of the 1990s teen drama. Its idyllic neighborhood has long been a draw for its Craftsman, Hacienda and Mid-Century modern architecture along heavily shaded streets.
Yet the Eaton fire has upended the scenic community, which is now cordoned off to the wider public as homeowners in masks sift through belongings while emergency personnel operate heavy equipment to neutralize safety issues, including downed trees and power lines. (The smell of gas hung heavy in the air.)
While nearly every home in portions of the Palisades has been lost in the other major fire that’s now spreading through Topanga Canyon, the area around Casa Walsh shows how the Eaton fire preyed on Altadena in a more scattershot pattern that appears to have been the work of a storm of carried embers. A third to half of homes have been lost, the unlucky ones interspersed evenly with those which made it.
Among the Altadena properties that didn’t make it is, a short stroll away, the 1915 Spanish Colonial Revival mansion that had been utilized by Hacks as Las Vegas-based comedienne Deborah Vance (Jean Smart)’s L.A. “side mansion.” According to Deadline, only its façade still remains.
