While Carrie Underwood may have gained some haters for her inauguration gig, she apparently didn’t gain any money.
CMG Digital Media head Michael Schweiger said he believes Carrie, 41, performed at the prestigious event to gain honor and exposure.
“I think they paid her zero,” Michael, who is also an expert in the celebrity business relations field, told The U.S. Sun.
He clarified: “To sing, they probably just paid for her flights and accommodations.”
But Michael did point out: “If she had performed at one of the swanky balls, she likely would have gotten paid.”Carrie sang a rendition of America the Beautiful, during which the country icon was forced to sing a capella after a series of technical issues.
The backup music didn’t play aloud during the Before He Cheats hitmaker’s moment on the worldwide televised event.
Despite the setbacks, Michael raved: “That was a pretty prestigious thing to do, and she did phenomenally. That was terrific.”
While the show did go on, Carrie was believed to have thrown “a fit” over the way things played out.

Speaking to The Daily Mail, an insider claimed that she was “furious” because she wasn’t given a stage or platform – instead, “she felt like she was literally just in a room with people all around her and a microphone.”
The 41-year-old allegedly felt snubbed because past performers at inaugurations for Joe Biden and Barack Obama, which hosted the likes of Beyonce and Lady Gaga, had been given such luxuries.
“She felt as if she was ushered in and out and had a mini hissy fit afterward,” the source claimed.Get all the latest news, entertainment, sport and lifestyle updates from our dedicated American team.
