Carrie Underwood is the talk of the town after she was announced to perform at Donald Trump’s inauguration.
The Before He Cheats singer has been receiving backlash for her choice to perform at the upcoming inauguration. Despite already breaking her silence on her decision, many are still talking, including The View hosts.
During the latest episode of the ABC talk show, Alyssa Farah Griffin started the conversation off by stating she’s over the cancel culture.
She said: “I personally hope we’re moving beyond the era of politics where we want to cancel people’s livelihood because we don’t like their politics.”
The television personality said if that is the case, many should “register you complaint” by “not downloading her songs and not going to her shows.”Despite the negativity, she actually agrees with Underwood’s decision.
“From a business standpoint, it’s not a bad decision,” Griffin said.
She said “artists tend to skew left-leaning” so the singer will easily stand out and be favored amongst the 75 million people who voted for Trump.
Griffin declared: “She’s overnight going to become an icon of MAGA and the American right.”
She added: “She’s probably going to make a lot of money off it so I get why she did it.”
Joy Behar was quiet after Griffin’s comment as she started with: “I see.”
The comedian then said she “wouldn’t do it” if she was in Underwood’s position.
“I would not normalize him,” she said, before questioning how the singer could say “I love our country” with her decision.

The conversation closed with Whoopi Goldberg saying she will “stand behind her” despite her not being “particularly interested.”
The actress mentioned: “I won’t be watching.”
