CANTON, Ohio — Canton police are investigating a shooting that took place Sunday night in the parking lot of Jerzee’s Sports Grille on Fulton Road Northwest.
According to a police report obtained by 3News, officers arrived at the bar around 10:15 p.m. and found a 32-year-old man laying on the ground beside the bar with a gunshot wound to his left collarbone.
A medical staff member from Cleveland Clinic Mercy Medical Center, who was already at the scene, assessed the victim’s injuries before police arrived. Once officers were there, emergency medical staff arrived and transported the victim to the hospital for further treatment, officials said.
Canton police confirmed to 3News that the shooting happened in the parking lot.
After the incident, officers searched the parking lot and surrounding area for evidence. The police report states they found blood near the victim’s vehicle, but no other signs of the shooting.
