Canon U.S.A., headquartered in Melville, has announced a new partnership with the Ryan Seacrest Foundation. In this partnership, Canon is delivering digital equipment such as lenses, cameras and printers to Seacrest Studios, which are located at 14 pediatric hospitals, including one on Long Island.
The foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, aims to inspire young people through entertainment and education-focused initiatives. Seacrest Studios, the nonprofit’s primary focus, provides broadcast studios that are designed to offer pediatric patients the opportunity to explore creativity via radio, television and new media. With this opportunity, the foundation looks to “contribute positively to the healing process for children and their families during their stay by developing these centers to bring an uplifting spirit to the hospital community,” according to a news release about the new partnership with Canon U.S.A.
“Canon is honored to partner with the Ryan Seacrest Foundation to provide equipment to Seacrest Studios across the country,” Isao “Sammy” Kobayashi, president and CEO of Canon U.S.A., said in the news release
“As a digital imaging company, it was natural to partner with an organization such as the Ryan Seacrest Foundation that provides hands-on opportunities with our equipment to so many children to help lift their spirits,” Kobayashi added. “The company is excited to see the creative content the children produce, as well as the interns and studio teams who run the Seacrest Studios.”
Meredith Seacrest Leach, executive director and chief operations officer of the Ryan Seacrest Foundation, said in the news release that the organization is “thrilled to have the support of Canon and grateful for their generous donation of state-of-the-art equipment. Their gift provides our studios with leading resources to capture high-quality content and allows our studio staff, interns, and patients to gain skills using premier technology.”
Last year, the foundation opened three new studios, including at the Cohen Children’s Medical Center, which is located on the Long Island-Queens border. Canon representatives had attended the studio’s grand opening, which was held in September.
In the new partnership, Canon will provide equipment to support the patient’s creative abilities and help to produce content that will be shared throughout the Seacrest Studios network. The equipment from the company includes Canon EOS R Full-Frame Mirrorless Cameras such as the EOS R3, EOS R5, EOS R6 Mark II, and EOS R7, high-end Canon RF L-Series Lenses such as RF28-70mm F2 L USM, RF15-35mm F2.8L IS USM, and RF70-200mm F2.8 L IS USM. Additional equipment includes desktop printers, wireless compact photo printers, and camera and mini photo printers.
In addition to providing support for equipment for future studio openings, Canon will also provide updated equipment to current studios.
