Campbell
Bellwood-Antis graduate Alli Campbell confirmed via text message to the Altoona Mirror Tuesday evening that she has entered the NCAA transfer portal ahead of her final year of college basketball eligibility.
Campbell has spent the last four years with the Penn State women’s basketball program but did not play and used a redshirt due to injury during the 2021-2022 season.
This past season, Campbell played in a career-high 26 games and started 23 of them. She also had career high averages in minutes per game (30.5) points per game (8.1), rebounds per game (4.1), assists per game (4.4) and steals per game (1.4).
“I definitely haven’t ruled out staying at PSU, but sometimes a change of scenery isn’t a bad thing,” Campbell texted. “For my last year, I’m trying to find a great fit for how I play basketball and hopefully help a team win games. Penn State will always be home, though, no matter what.”
Campbell’s time at Penn State was unfortunately marred by injuries, including one that hampered her this past season.
She played in 25 games and averaged 15.2 minutes per game during the 2023-2024 season and averaged 3.2 points per game. Campbell played in just 10 games during the 2022-2023 season, starting one, and finished averaging 3.9 points per game.
She began her college career in the 2020-2021 season at Notre Dame and played in six games, averaging 2.2 points in limited action, before entering the transfer portal and coming to Penn State.
Campbell is Blair County’s all-time leading scorer in high school basketball, finishing with 3,019 points during her stellar career at Bellwood-Antis.
She led the Lady Blue Devils to back-to-back PIAA Class 2A championships in 2018 and 2019 before her senior season was cut short in the PIAA quarterfinals when the rest of the tournament was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
