EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — "I’ll see you in court." That was California Attorney General Rob Bonta’s message to President Donald Trump on Tuesday morning.
In a news conference, Bonta said he was "deeply disappointed" that the president had overstepped with an "un-American" executive order following his inauguration Monday.
Among the "onslaught of disastrous" executive orders that Trump signed on his first day in office was the end to birthright citizenship.
Bonta noted that a lawsuit had already been filed against the order, and that he was joined by several attorney generals across the U.S. — including Massachusetts and San Francisco.
He said children would be forced to live under the fear of deportation due to Trump’s executive order.
On Monday, in front of a cheering crowd, Trump signed a number of other orders, such as pulling the U.S. out of the Paris Climate Agreement for the second time.
This a developing story and will be updated.
