A full team effort by Helena Capital led them to a road victory at Hellgate on Tuesday evening.
The Helena Capital boys basketball team earned a hard fought 47-42 conference victory over the Hellgate Knights on Tuesday evening in Missoula.
It was a tight game throughout as Hellgate led 13-9 after the first quarter but Capital led 24-21 going into halftime.
Merek Mihelish and Landon Levang each scored 11 points to lead Capital. It was a total team effort for the Bruins with nine different players contributing in the scoring column.
Hellgate was paced by Zane Gillhouse’s game-high 14 points.
With the win, Helena Capital (4-3, 3-0) moved into a tie with rival Helena High for first place in the Western Conference standings. The Bruins will be back in action on Thursday, January 16 hosting Missoula Sentinel.
Hellgate (5-2, 2-1) drops into third place in the league standings. Next for the Knights is another great opportunity to battle one of the top teams in the West, battling on the road at Helena High this Thursday, January 16.
