Breeze Airways, a Utah-based budget airline, seems to have a soft spot for Tampa Bay. The airline’s inaugural flight was from Tampa to Charleston in 2021, and now another first for the airline is happening in Tampa: Breeze recently announced it has signed a sponsorship deal the Tampa Bay Lightning.
“We have many loyal guests in Tampa, and this new partnership with the Lightning, our very first with an NHL team, is another way for Breeze to give back to the community,” says David Neeleman, Breeze Airways’ founder and CEO, in a statement.
Perks of the partnership will include travel giveaways for fans, including a roundtrip flight to Raleigh for an away game, and in-game promotions according to the release.
Breeze Airways, headquartered in the Salt Lake City metropolitan area, offers a mix of more than 200 year-round and seasonal nonstop routes between 66 cities in 30 states on its fleet of Embraer 190/195 and Airbus A220-300 aircraft. Of those, there are 28 destinations from Tampa with 23 offering nonstop service.
