The bishop who went viral for her scolding of Donald Trump took to The View to respond to his online insults demanding she apologize.
Trump took to social media to label the bishop as a ‘nasty’ ‘far-left radical’ after she called on him to show mercy to the LGBTQ+ community and other underrepresented groups.
The Right Reverend Mariann Edgar Budde told The View co-hosts she wants to ‘counter the narrative that is so divisive and polarizing in which people are being harmed.’
She declined to comment regarding the president’s request, instead saying she would be open to a one-on-one meeting if Trump invited her personally.
Budde noted that she holds a ‘great amount of respect’ for the Trump administration and shared that she would keep things respectful if she met with him.

The bishop addressed the Trump administration after she used an inaugural prayer service to plead her case to the president, explaining that several marginalized groups are currently ‘fearful for their lives.’ Both Trump and J.D. Vance appeared to grow aggravated.
Her words were left unrecognized as Trump immediately fired back on his platform, Truth Social, demanding she apologizes and labeling the bishop a ‘Radical Left hardline Trump hater.’
Trump raged: “She brought her church into the World of politics in a very ungracious way. She was nasty in tone, and not compelling or smart.”
