Bernhard LLC is consolidating its New Orleans-area offices into a national corporate headquarters going in The Galleria in Metairie in early 2020.
Bernhard has struck a partnership with New Jersey’s largest health care network that will lead to the development of a $134 million solar energy and battery storage system.
The 30-year deal with Hackensack Meridian Health will create the largest solar power system of any health provider in the country. Hospital officials said this will cut carbon emissions by 10%, reduce the amount of electricity purchased by 25% and lead to a 33% energy savings.
Hackensack Meridian operates 18 hospitals in New Jersey, with nearly 4,000 beds and a staff of 6,500 doctors and 35,000 employees.
Metairie-based Bernhard specializes in energy-as-a-service projects, where it partners with a client to manage their power portfolio. Bernard has done similar deals with the University of New Orleans, Tulane University and Our Lady of the Lake.
