
<span>General</span> <time pubdate datetime="3/19/2025 2:00:00 PM">3/19/2025 2:00:00 PM</time> <br><span style="font-size:16px;"><strong>MANSFIELD, Mass. –</strong> Bentley benefitted from a strong winter season to take a narrow lead in the overall Northeast-10 Conference Presidents' Cup standings, as reigning champion Adelphi sits just one point behind entering the spring season. <br /> <br /> Bentley won the NE10 regular season title in women's basketball, tied for second in men's basketball and finished as runner-up in women's swimming & diving to propel itself to the top of the Presidents' Cup standings with 106.0 points. The Falcons earned nearly 70% of their available points for winter sports. <br /> <br /> Adelphi won the NE10 regular season title in men's basketball and was runner-up in men's swimming & diving, as it reached 105.0 overall points through two sport seasons. Five institutions are within eight points of each other, as Southern New Hampshire is third in the standings (89.0 points) - followed by New Haven (88.0 points), Southern Connecticut (86.5 points), Assumption (84.5 points) and Saint Anselm (81.5 points). <br /> <br /> Southern Connecticut led all institutions in points earned (46.0) and percentage of maximum points earned (85%) in the winter season, as the Owls swept NE10 titles in men's and women's swimming & diving and indoor track & field. <br /> <br /> The NE10 Presidents' Cup is presented annually at the conclusion of the academic year, signifying overall athletic excellence in the league. The honor is awarded to the institution that compiles the most cumulative points based on finishes in the regular season standings from all of its programs competing in league championships.<br /> <br /> In the Men's Sports Cup standings, Adelphi took a narrow lead with 43.0 points, edging Bentley and Southern Connecticut who are tied for second with 41.0 points. Adelphi earned a league-best 85% of its maximum points in men's sports this winter, which was closely followed by Southern Connecticut with 81%. <br /> <br /> In the Women's Sports Cup standings, Bentley leads with 65.0 points, while Adelphi is second with 62.0 points and New Haven is third with 53.0 points.
