
MADISON – The Appleton area will have 17 wrestlers competing for state championships after Friday’s semifinal results.
In the girls tournament, four girls from the Appleton area won their semifinal matches to make the finals. In the boys tournament, four wrestlers from Division 1, four from Division 2 and five from Division 3 advanced.
The championship matches will start at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the Kohl Center.

Katherine Cook (100 pounds) and Lily Baker of Freedom (107) both won to advance to their respective title matches. Kylee Kurszewski (114) of Neenah and Lillie Banks (132) of Menasha also won to reach the finals.
Hailie Krueger of New London, who was going for a fourth state title at the tournament, will wrestle for third place after losing her semifinal match by a 9-4 decision.
In Division 1 boys, Declan Koch (157) and Jacob Herm (165) of Neenah both won their semifinal matches. Herm is looking to win his second state title.
Nolan Skebba (150) of Hortonville and Liam Crook (175) of Kaukauna also advanced to the finals with semifinal victories. Crook won the title last season at 160.
Seymour and Freedom both had two wrestlers make the finals in Division 2.
Aidan Peters (126) and Cael Leisgang (215) advanced to title matches for Seymour, while Peter Tomazevic (132) and Hunter Vander Heiden (285) are in title matches for Freedom.
In Division 3 boys, Weyauwega-Fremont and Shiocton both had two wrestlers make the finals.
Jaydon Le Noble (106) and Collin Hamm (150) reached the finals for Weyauwega-Fremont, while Blake Carton (165) and Ilijah Sanchez (215) made it for Shiocton.
Parker Spierings of Brillion also made the finals, advancing at 113.

GRAND CHUTE – Tripp Wroblewski scored two goals and Nathan Antti and Ian Aitken added one each as the Tritons earned a trip to the state tournament.
Kai Wilcox and Ryker Thomas had assists for Notre Dame.
After a scoreless first period, the Tritons took charge, taking a 2-1 lead entering the third period. After N/H/M tied the score 16 seconds into the third on Clay Laabs’ goal, the game stayed that way until the 14:08 mark when Antti found the back of the net.
Notre Dame sealed the win with Wroblewski’s empty-net goal at 16:44.
Clay Laabs and Calvin Zinda scored goals for Neenah/Hortonville/Menasha, while Ty Laabs added two assists and Cooper Zinda one.
The Tritons outshot NHM 34-25 on the night, as Anton Widas made 22 saves in net.
Owen Debbert made 25 saves for Neenah/Hortonville/Menasha.
KIMBERLY – The Papermakers raced out to a huge halftime advantage and cruised to the regional semifinal win.
Ava Van Vonderen powered Kimberly with 16 points, while Haylie Dulas added 14.
Kimberly led 35-8 at the halftime break.
Leading the Golden Raiders was Bryn Adams with 13 points.
Kimberly moves to 24-1 overall, while Sheboygan North finishes its season at 11-15.

Second-seeded Marinette moves on to face sixth-seeded Pulaski.
Djunie Langel led the Bulldogs with 10 points.
The game was tied at the break before the Marines closed on a 27-20 run.
Marinette is now 21-4 overall, while New London finishes its season at 6-19 overall.
