Below is my personal opinion on what may have allegedly happened,
Based on the current information that has been provided to me.
On Friday, December 6, 2024, at approximately 7:12 p.m., Rockford
Police responded to a residence in the 1900 block of W. Pearl Avenue for a report of an
armed robbery to a citizen. SCOPE officers developed a suspect, Azavion Harvey, and
located him a short time later inside a garage in the 1900 block of Crestwood. During
the investigation, SCOPE officers located and recovered a loaded handgun and items
reported missing from W. Pearl Avenue. Harvey was taken into custody and lodged in
the County Jail.
After reviewing the facts of the case, the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office
authorized the charges listed below.
Azavion Harvey, 18, Rockford
Armed Robbery
Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon
No Valid FOID
