The expression is the secret is in the sauce, but at Albanese’s success is not only found in the ingredients and recipes, but with the husband-wife team who lovingly make and sell it for their longtime customers.
While Albanese’s Roadhouse, at 2301 W. Bluemound Road in Waukesha, may have closed in March 2023, been razed and replaced with a car wash, the Italian restaurant’s fandom lives on, as has its Italian fish fries at the Wisconsin Brewing Company Park, home of the Lake Country DockHounds, in Oconomowoc.
Now, owners Joey and Christina Albanese will be selling more of customers’ favorites, such as Albanese’s meatballs, marina sauce, wine, Italian bread crumbs and vodka sauce.
Customers can place orders online and then Joey Albanese said he will deliver the order.
A common meeting space has been the site of the former restaurant.
He said they are starting out slow with sales of items and have focused on the most popular items. The response has been great so far, Albanese said. In fact, the reason they decided to begin making Albanese’s signature foods again for customers was that people kept talking about them and wanting them.
Albanese said he has enjoyed seeing familiar faces for the fish fries at WBC Park, 1011 Blue Ribbon Circle North, and is looking forward to seeing them again in the new year. The fish fries will be held every Friday starting in January and going through the end of April.
After 41 years of business, Albanese said customers became like “family.”

Owner Morgan Schnabl said she opened her first location of brunch. in 2016 in downtown Milwaukee in order to fill a gap.
“There were not a lot of restaurants serving solely breakfast, let alone one that focused on not just breakfast food, but the entire brunch experience (bottomless mimosas, bloody Marys, big, fun food, etc.),” she said.
From there, she added a location in Cedarburg and another in Brookfield, which recently closed.
The top seller at brunch. is the chicken and waffles. Schnabl said biscuit and gravy Benedict is another favorite, as are French toast sticks and croissant beignets. The “Dad Bod” is a plate full of meats, eggs, potatoes, and a pancake or waffle. There are also lighter options such as a parfait bowl and quinoa power bowl.
“We love taking classic favorites that everyone knows and loves such as bacon and eggs, benedicts, pancakes — and putting a fun twist on them. Our pancakes are huge, fun, and we have options such as Cinnamon Roll Pancakes, Cookies & Cream … and even a Pancake of the Month each month,” Schnabl said. “Our sauces are made in house and we make our English muffins from scratch. Our dishes are made with love and our goal is that they give you that classic nostalgia with a little bit of a fun, modern twist.” brunch. just isn’t truly brunch without a good beverage and brunch. has that covered as well with coffee from Milwaukee-made Valentine, a variety of juices and a full bar.
