Adam Brody and Leighton Meester are sharing one of their secrets to a successful marriage.
The O.C. star and the Gossip Girl alum spoke to Access Hollywood on the red carpet at the 82 Golden Globes on Sunday (January 5) where they revealed one way they have managed to maintain their lengthy relationship. The pair have been married for 10 years and have two children together, born in 2015 and 2020, per People. After being told that Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban credit separate toilets and double-headed showers as a "secret to a successful marriage," Brody said he and his wife have a similar arrangement.
"We have de facto separate toilets," he said. "I go in the office. It’s nice. One layer farther away from the kids and one layer more deep with privacy."
Meester, however, had a different approach, namely that she doesn’t ever really think about it and just goes to wherever is closest at the time. She said, "I just put no thought into the toilet situation whatsoever. Never crossed my mind."
Given their decade-long marriage seems to be going strong, the separate bathrooms appears to be a successful tactic.
Brody also shared how he and Meester celebrated his Golden Globe nomination for his role as Noah in the Netflix series Nobody Wants This, starring opposite Kristin Bell.
"I received calls, but I don’t honestly remember calling anyone," he recalled. "We were in bed together, so that was nice. I don’t think I called anyone."
