BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – Five local Birmingham sports teams are partnering again this year to help combat hunger in central Alabama.
The Birmingham Stallions, Squadron, Legion, Barons, and Bulls are coming together for the BHM 5 Food Drive where people can donate items for those in need throughout the month of November at multiple locations.
I am so grateful we are uniting once again to help those who are struggling with food scarcity and bring awareness to the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama. We need all the Stallions’ fans and Birmingham sports fans to come together and help us fill up a truckload of much-needed food items to donate during this holiday season.
Giving back to the community that supports us is paramount to who we are as a team. Partnering with the other local professional sports teams is something special to us as we continue to build here in the Magic City.
The teams will deliver the items donated to the Community Foodbank of Central Alabama Nov. 27 just in time for the holiday season.
Legion FC is excited to participate in the BHM5 Food Drive again! This is a great opportunity to join other Birmingham teams to make a positive impact in our community.
The Barons have always aimed to be active community partners and to be able to jointly work with all our Birmingham sports teams is quite a wonderful opportunity in having a unified goal and ultimately helping those in need.
The Birmingham Bulls, who recently began their 2024-2025 season, will be accepting donations during a home game at the Pelham Civic Complex later this month.
The Bulls have had a wonderful relationship with CFOCA over the past few seasons. We are super excited to be working together with them and with all the pro sports organizations in Birmingham. It speaks volumes for the city that all the teams can work together for an incredible cause that gives back to the community that has supported them for so many years.
Donations will be accepted from Nov. 7- Nov. 25 at the following locations:
