Halle Bailey exclusively told E! News that while she often feels guilty if she travels for work without 9-month-old son Halo—whom she shares with ex DDG—she reminds herself she's doing it for him.
Halle Bailey wants to be where the action is.
But despite her love of traveling, the Little Mermaid star expanded on her feelings of "mom guilt" when she travels without her 9-month-old son Halo, whom she shares with ex DDG.
"I feel like I'm learning so much still when it comes to that," Halle exclusively told E! News. "I love my baby so much. It's hard to be away from him."
So, how does she alleviate any feelings of guilt, especially if she's going away for work? "I think you just have to chant to yourself that you're doing this for your baby," the 24-year-old explained, "and this is all going to be worth it and he's so proud of you."
She added, "Affirming yourself with positive affirmations I feel like has helped me."
But luckily for Halle, she is often able to take Halo on work trips, which is easy to do because he is "just so chill."
"He's calm," she said, "and I've been traveling with him since he was really, really small so I think he's used to lights and stuff now. He knows the role, he knows the system and program."
Still, the Grammy nominee makes sure she always travels with extra wipes—joking she's "a bit of a germaphobe"—and stays optimistic when she and Halo are headed somewhere together.
"I feel like if you have a positive attitude when getting on a plane," she said, "you end up having good experiences."
And her most delightful experience as of late was a family trip to Cancun in July, joking that the trip was a long time coming after it finally "made it out of the group chat."
"We all were like, 'Oh, well, I have work this weekend. I have to do this, I have to do that,'" she noted. "But we finally got it together."
The "Because I Love You" singer is looking forward to even more getaways in the next year, which she said is made easier thanks to the Marriott Bonvoy Bold Credit Card from Chase.
"It has helped me so much be able to move freely and as fast as I want to go," she told E! of their partnership. "I'm one of those people that when I have an idea about going somewhere, I want to go the next day or the idea is fleeting. I don't want it to leave my system."
For Halle, travel is especially essential because it's her "mental health reset," which is why she partnered with the card for their Bold Chat Court contest, which gives fans a chance to take their own trip out of the group chat and into the real world.
Halle added, "It's a beautiful thing when you have a resource like the Marriott Bonvoy Bold Card to help you be able to move as freely as you want to."
