UTICA, N.Y. — A new student-run business is officially open at Thomas R. Proctor High School.
The Raider Nation Thrift Shop and Cinderella’s Closet held their grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony today.
These two stores are new and innovative for the community. It’s for students, by students.
The clothing store is led by Proctor’s Key Club and is 17 years in the making.
Key Club Advisor Christine Golden says this all started when Key Cub was gifted a rack of dresses.
“Last year, we had this idea for a thrift shop and wanted to give the kids an option for a place to shop.”
All items at the thrift store are $5 or less. The items in Cinderella’s Closet, such as dresses for prom or special occasions, are completely free.
These two stores are open Monday and Wednesday after school from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
