Samantha Rushing joined the team at Explore Alexandria Tourism earlier this year as the new social media marketing coordinator.
Rushing is originally from Devils Lake, ND, and also lived and went to school in Fargo before moving to Douglas County a few years ago.
She is a driven, self-starter who owns an online boutique – Emerald and Pine Boutique – and has worked with several Alexandria businesses on their social media campaigns, according to Joe Korkowski, executive director of Explore Alexandria Tourism.
Rushing has also worked in retail and hospitality for the past 12 years.
“All that combined experience and her eye for social media trends makes her a great addition to Explore Alex’s mission in helping to promote Alexandria tourism to people throughout the Midwest,” Korkowski said in a news release.

Ty Bentrup, Scott Syverson and Lindsay Weller, physical therapists at Alomere Health, and Drew Paradis, physical therapist at Heartland Orthopedics, recently attended a Level 1 functional dry needling course through Evidence in Motion (EIM).
This will offer expanded access to an additional treatment option for the community. Dry needling is a technique that trained physical therapists may use to treat musculoskeletal pain and movement disorders through use of a fine filament needle.
The technique works to improve pain and mobility by reducing muscle tension and increasing blood flow to the area of focus. Benefits of dry needling include pain reduction, improved mobility, and normalization of muscle activation patterns needed for healthy, functional movement.
Additional physical therapists certified in functional dry needling include Brian Storhaug (EIM Level 2) and Courtney Suppa (Structure and Function Dry Needling 1) at Alomere Health, and Brandon Strouth (EIM Level 2) at Heartland Orthopedics.
Reach out to Alomere Health Rehabilitation Services at 320-762-6079 or Heartland Orthopedic Specialists at 320-762-1144 to schedule an appointment or to request more information.
