Nevada (12-8) went ahead for good in the second, as Snakenborg’s RBI single evened things up at 1-1 followed by a Bronco throwing error leading to an RBI groundout by Jack Metcho.
Sean Yamaguchi led off the third with a single, and two batters later Holder sent a Tyler Alleman offering deep and out to left-center to open up a three-run lead at 4-1.
Santa Clara (8-9) cut it to two at 4-2 in the fifth, but the Wolf Pack answered right away when Ball followed walks to Snakenborg and Metcho with a three-run shot to left. An inning later, Doyle went deep to left with Billy Ham aboard, breaking it open at 9-2.
Ratfield walked for the third time in the eighth inning, setting up Snakenborg’s two-run double. Mason Hirata drove Snakenborg in with a single to left for the Wolf Pack’s final run of the night.
Ham and Yamaguchi each had two hits, joining Doyle, Holder, and Snakenborg as the five Wolf Pack batters with a multi-hit game.
