As an executive vice president in JLL’s Melville office, Douglas Omstrom leads sales and leasing strategies for industrial properties throughout the region. He oversees complex transactions, including relocations and large-scale leases for Fortune 500 companies. Omstrom also collaborates with local business organizations, positioning him as a leader in the Long Island commercial real estate sector.
A seasoned commercial real estate specialist, Omstrom has 38 years of experience in the Long Island market. He excels in advising a diverse range of clients, from local businesses to national corporations, on their industrial space needs. His in-depth knowledge of the regional market and his extensive network enable him to provide strategic insights that optimize his clients’ real estate decisions and operational efficiency. His portfolio includes more than 10 million square feet of sales and leasing transactions, with notable deals such as Newsday Media Group’s headquarters relocation. He is a recipient of the Most Ingenious Deal of The Year Award from the Association for a Better Long Island and Commercial Industrial Brokers Society of Long Island for the sale of the 179,000-square-foot former Bristol Myers Squibb facility in Garden City. Omstrom’s other notable deals include the $33 million sale of 100 Forest Drive in East Hills, a redevelopment project for a 192,648-square-foot distribution hub. Omstrom was recognized as the 2023 Commercial Broker of the Year by LIBN and has earned JLL’s Gold Achiever status multiple times, most recently in 2024. Prominent developer Rechler Equity Partners recognized him for the Development Deal of the Year and as Broker of the Year for 2022 and 2023.
