Former “The Bachelorette” star DeAnna Pappas has been arrested in a dispute with her ex.
E! News reports the “Bachelor Nation” alum was taken into custody early Feb. 27 after an altercation with ex-husband Stephen Stagliano. She was released on $20,000 bond that same day, according to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department.
The former couple, who shares kids Addison, 11, and Austin, 9, finalized their divorce in June after 11 years of marriage.
Pappas, 43, filed for a domestic violence restraining order against Stagliano, last week after his mother, Lynn Stagliano, filed court documents claiming she “smelled alcohol on DeAnna’s breath” while picking up Austin from Pappas' home for school. Pappas denied drinking and said the Feb. 27 incident occurred when Stephen, 40, grabbed her and refused to leave her home.
Pappas also alleged multiple incidents of verbal and physical assaults by Stephen Stagliano, and said he had been falsely claiming she was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder.
“Stephen has gaslit me, manipulated me, and emotionally abused me for years,” she said in a petition. “This is just another way he is trying to control me. He has tried to paint me as a drunken alcoholic since we started this divorce process.”
Pappas starred on season 11 of “The Bachelor” and season 4 of “The Bachelorette” in 2008, when she famously rejected Jason Mesnick and accepted a marriage proposal from Jesse Csincsak. Their engagement was called off months later and Mesnick went on to star on “The Bachelor” in 2009.
