WASHINGTON — Michelle Obama is launching a weekly podcast alongside her brother, Craig Robinson, in which the pair will share opinions and advice, the former first lady said on social media on Monday.
The podcast, titled “IMO,” which is short for “in my opinion,” is set to air every Wednesday, with the first episode releasing this week, according to the show’s page on X.
Each episode, Obama and Robinson will be joined by special guests, including experts and friends, to offer “their unique experiences and candid perspectives to a range of personal dilemmas,” a description of the show on its YouTube channel reads.
“From dating and relationships to parenting and financial planning, IMO sees the iconic First Lady at her most relaxed and honest,” the description continues.
In a post on Instagram, Obama noted that her older brother is “one of the people I turn to whenever I have anything on my mind.”
“He always has the insights, the wisdom, and the humor to get me through anything,” she added.
The show’s social media pages are encouraging potential listeners to submit questions they want discussed on the podcast.
Episodes will be released on YouTube and will be available across audio platforms and is a production of Higher Ground, the media company formed by the Obamas in 2018, more than a year after they left the White House.
This will be the former first lady’s third stint at the trade, having hosted one podcast in 2020 and another in 2023. Robinson is a former Princeton University basketball standout who was the head coach of the Oregon State and Brown University basketball teams, as well as a executive for the New York Knicks and Milwaukee Bucks of the NBA. He currently is the executive director of the National Association of Basketball Coaches.
This week, the brother-sister duo will also also take part in a “featured session” on Thursday at the South by Southwest, known as SXSW, media festival in Austin, Texas
“Michelle Obama has long been an inspiration to us at SXSW and to millions of people around the world," Hugh Forrest, SXSW President and chief programming officer, said in a press release. “Her belief that we lift each other up by sharing our stories with one another is a core part of the SXSW experience and a key catalyst in helping creative people achieve their goals.
