This Whaler sports roundup includes some of the best times from Tuesday’s swim meet, as well as a rundown of the weekend schedule for Nantucket’s sports teams.
Below are some of the notable times from Tuesday’s swim meet, which ended with a 90-60 win for the boys and a 94-52 victory for the girls.
Boys:
Pavlin Aleksiev, Markus Vitanov, Eli MacIver, and Jake Johnson placed first in the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 1:55.58.
Eli MacIver placed first in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:12.64.
Andrick Mooney placed first in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 25.82.
Jake Johnson placed first in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 50.27.
Jake Johnson, Andrick Mooney, Pavlin Aleksiev, and Eli MacIver placed first in the 200 yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:44.18.
Pavlin Aleksiev placed first in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:09.04.
Eli MacIver placed first in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:08.74.
Girls:
Sara Dussault, Evie Phelps, Martina Savova, and Myah Johnson placed first in the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 2:04.51.
Sara Dussault placed first in the 200 yard individual medley with a time of 2:23.57.
Myah Johnson placed first in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 25.89.
Evie Phelps placed first in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:08.68.
Myah Johnson placed first in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 59.23.
Evie Phelps placed first in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 6:02.75.
Harper LeBrecht, Sara Dussault, Evie Phelps, and Myah Johnson placed first in the 200 yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:53.37.
SCHEDULE AHEAD:
Friday, January 24th:
The girls basketball team will travel to play the Sturgis West Navigators at 5 p.m.
The boys basketball team will travel to play Ayer Shirley Regional High School at 6 p.m.
Saturday, January 25th:
The girls basketball team will host Hull High School at 12 p.m.
The boys hockey team will host Bourne High School at 2 p.m.
The boys & girls swim teams will be on the road facing Martha’s Vineyard at 12:30 p.m.
The boys basketball team will be on the road playing KIPP Academy at 1 p.m.
