American businessman Donald Trump is slated to take the Oath of Office Monday to become the 47th president of the United States, marking his second time as the country’s top leader.
The Swearing-In Ceremony for the 78-year-old president-elect is set for noon ET at the West Front of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., according to the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies.
Trump’s family members including his wife, Melania Trump, will attend the inauguration but it was not immediately known whether their son, Barron Trump, would be in attendance.
Much has changed for Barron Trump since his father’s first presidency, including his address, his school and the fact he is now an adult.
Who is Barron Trump? Here’s what to know about the teenager as his family steps back into the White House.
Barron Trump is 18. He was born March 20, 2006.
He is the sole child of Donald and Melania Trump and a U.S. citizen.
Barron Trump graduated from Oxbridge Academy in West Palm Beach, Florida on May 17, 2024 and is a New York University student.
According to NewJersey.com, part of the USA TODAY Network, it’s not clear if he will attend the celebration as he is now living in New York and inauguration day is on Monday, the day before spring semester officially starts back for classes at New York University, where he attends.
Barron’s decision to attend NYU is a step away from the family tradition of attending either University of Pennsylvania or Georgetown University, both of which have strong ties to the Trump family. Donald Trump and his other children − Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump, Eric Trump and Tiffany Trump − have attended or graduated from the prestigious universities in Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C., respectively.
But Barron’s brother-in-law Jared Kushner has ties to NYU. Kushner, married to Barron’s half-sister Ivanka, has an undergraduate degree from Harvard and business and law degrees from New York University, according to the Palm Beach Post.
Barron Trump has four half-siblings: Donald Trump Jr., 47, Ivanka Trump, 43, Eric Trump, 41 and Tiffany Trump, 31.
Barron spent much of his childhood at the Trump Tower in Manhattan, living there until his father was sworn in as the 45th president in early 2017, according to the Palm Beach Post, part of the USA TODAY NETWORK. Barron moved into the White House when he was age 11 and lived there until 2019, when the family permanently relocated to Trump’s private club, Mar-a-Lago, in Palm Beach, Florida.
Despite making limited appearances during his father’s third presidential campaign, social media reports suggest Barron Trump was active behind the scenes, advising Trump on how to connect with younger, Gen Z voters.
Trump has also credited Barron for convincing him to appear on Joe Rogan’s podcast, TODAY reported.
