A woman practically charged at me at the end of class Wednesday morning.
Our 50 minutes were up. I had just said I’ll see everyone next week. She rose from her aisle position in a near-front pew. She lunged forward with a look of frantic displeasure.
I thought, my goodness, I’ve offended this fine old friend and veteran Democrat more than I had expected. I’d just blamed the modern-day bad excuse for a Democratic Party for Donald Trump’s being president-elect. To be precise, I’d given its ineptitude as much blame as I’d given the soul-sacrificed direct enablers composing the modern-day bad excuse for a Republican Party.
This was the “Behind the Headlines” continuing education class I’ve led now for quarter-century.
