PATTON — Portage’s Trae Kargo needed eight points heading into Friday night’s game against Cambria Heights to reach the 1,000-point mark for his career.
The senior delivered 14 points, in addition to eight assists, for the game and went over the coveted mark as the Mustangs cruised to a 60-37 victory in high school boys basketball.
Owen Gouse’s 24 points led all scorers for Portage, which improved to 10-3.
Isaac Weiland fronted the Highlanders with 14 points.

Blake Kulick canned eight treys and totaled a career-high 26 points, Brayden Haney finished with 17, Christian Treon had 12, while Paydden Knisely and Gavin Treon came through with 10 points apiece for the Bulldogs, who have won four straight.
