In the opener of the 50th girls Ripley County Tournament at Milan, as heard last night on WRBI, Batesville routed Jac-Cen-Del 54-14, and South Ripley crushed Milan 57-12. The Bulldogs and Raiders will meet for the championship tonight at 6, followed by the Batesville and South Ripley boys meeting for the county tourney title. Both games will be played at South Ripley. WRBI coverage begins at 5:30. The 2025 Ripley County Basketball Hall of Fame inductees will be introduced between games.
In boys C team basketball, it was North Decatur over Knightstown 36-33.
Batesville and Greensburg split in boys middle school hoops. The Bulldogs won the 7th grade game 43-7 while the Pirates took the 8th grade contest 45-40.
It was St. Louis all over St. Lawrence 48-6 in boys 8th grade play.
Purdue moves up two spots to # 17 in this week’s AP Top 25 College Basketball Poll. Auburn in the new #1, followed by Iowa State, Duke, Alabama and Florida to round out the top five.
The Pacers put their six-game winning streak on the line at home tonight against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Tipoff is at 7.
And the Los Angeles Rams knocked off the Minnesota Vikings 27-9 in NFL Wild Card playoff action last night.
