It still feels like I should be saying “happy New Year!” but I think its time to accept we’re back to the normal pace of life after the hectic holiday season. We had the Golden Globes and CES 2025 this week on at its high points. It has also been a devastating week in California with ravaging wildfires.
From movie trailers, gaming updates, and more, here’s the news you may have missed this week.
Sony confirmed the news during its nearly hour-long CES presentation on Monday! I’ve included a time jump to the announcement.
PlayStation Productions and Columbia Pictures are in the early stages of the production process.
We also got a cute look LEGO Horizon Adventures x mxmtoon music video and a BTS video.
In theaters this year!
You’ll be able to add the service to Crunchyroll membership as a premium add-on when it launches later in 2025 as a standalone app on iOS and Android, according to Crunchyroll.
PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players can sign up for the Elden Ring Nightrein network test at nightreign.com/nt. The game is slated to launch later this year.
“The network test will allow players to try the game’s co-op experience, teaming up in squads of three to outlast a three day-and-night cycle as they take on increasingly challenging enemies and bosses,” Bandai Namco said in a press release.
The all-new adventure in ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN begins at the Roundtable Hold, set in a universe parallel to the events of ELDEN RING. Players must choose from eight unique characters, each with their own abilities and powerful Ultimates. Their journeys take them to Limveld, an ever-changing environment, where they will have to make split-second decisions when it comes to combat and exploration in the face of a night cycle that shrinks the map with the coming Night’s Tide. At the end of each night, players will face a powerful boss and, if victorious, awaken to bigger challenges. Each session will culminate in the third night when they must face off against the chosen Nightlord. Individuals can fight the night alone, but strength will come in numbers. Nightfarers must learn to cooperate to take down these challenges, combining their unique abilities together for an unparalleled experience. All is not lost for those who fall in defeat. Unsuccessful runs will grant players relics to allow them to customize and upgrade their characters tailored to their personal play styles.
Funcom revealed the upcoming massively multiplayer open-world survival game Dune: Awakening will be one of the first games to use NVIDIA’s brand-new DLSS 4 technology with Multi Frame Generation. The game will also include Razer’s next-gen Chroma and Haptics integration.
The tech will make “it an ideal way to experience the harsh and expansive beauty of Arrakis,” according to a news release. Dune: Awakening launches on PC in early 2025.
Through Razer’s brand-new synced lighting and the full suite of Razer’s haptic feedback devices, including the Freyja HD haptic gaming cushion and Kraken Pro headset, the lines between Arrakis and reality begin to blur. Feel everything happening around you: the ground rumbling as a giant sandworm approaches, the crashing wind of the deadly sandstorm, and the kick of the rocket launcher as you fire at an enemy Ornithopter. In a game where situational awareness is key for survival, Razer Chroma and Haptics is an excellent match.
