WICHITA, Kan. — Wichita State Athletics and the Wichita State University Foundation & Alumni Engagement Office are partnering to host Ladies & Littles Day on Saturday, February 8 at the women’s basketball game against UTSA. Tip-off is at 1pm. Doors will open at 11:30am. The event serves as a celebration of National Girls & Women in Sports Day which falls on February 5 this year.
The event will feature catered appetizers from Chartwell’s, beverages with bar service provided by Premier Food Services and live music by Whitnie Means inside the Aetna Multi-Purpose Center. Multiple vendors and Shocker women’s sport programs will also be setup throughout the space offering various activities as listed below.
A ticket to the game is all that is required for admission to the event. Tickets can be purchased at GoShockers.com/Tickets.
The Wichita State Cheer Team will also be hosting their Youth Cheer Clinic simultaneously alongside the Ladies & Littles Day celebration to provide young boys and girls the opportunity to showcase their strength and athleticism. The clinic will take place in the Aetna Multi-Purpose Center providing parents the ability to partake in the Ladies & Littles Day fun while their child participates in the clinic. Registration for the clinic costs $60 and includes a t-shirt, poms, two (2) complimentary game tickets and clinic instruction at a Friday night and Saturday session. Clinic participants will showcase their newly-learned skills in a special performance on the court at halftime of the game. Learn more and register your child for the Youth Cheer Clinic here.
Wichita State Athletics will also recognize our women’s sports programs at halftime of the men’s basketball game against North Texas on January 29 and highlight numerous accomplishments by our women’s sport programs throughout the women’s basketball game on February 5 against Florida Atlantic.
