Jeff Mayzurk, who currently leads operations and technology for the NBCUniversal News Group will become president of operations and technology for the new company, while Kristin Newkirk will become CFO of TV networks. She currently is CFO of NBCU’s local media group.
David Pietrycha will be chief revenue and business officer, overseeing business development, ad sales, distribution and data & research. He currently is chief business officer of the NBCU Media Group. Greg Wright will be chief accounting officer and controller. Other executive hires are expected in the coming weeks.
Comcast says that the new leadership team will start in their new roles in April, with the spinoff still expected this year.
Comcast announced the spinoff in November, with the veteran executive Lazarus set to lead the public company. SpinCo will include cable channels like USA, CNBC, MSNBC, Syfy, E! and Golf Channel, as well as digital businesses like Fandango and Rotten Tomatoes.
A source at the company positioned it as an eager buyer, looking to quickly gain scale in the TV and streaming space.
“As we embark on this journey to build a one-of-a-kind company, I am thrilled to be joined by such a talented group of leaders with the experience and expertise needed to make SpinCo a leading multimedia company from day one,” said Lazarus in a statement. “Together, we will capitalize upon our iconic media assets, chart a course for growth and continue to attract additional talent as we build momentum toward the completion of the spin-off.”
“This team was handpicked because of their expertise within each of their function areas,” Kini added. “I am confident that with and under the leadership of Mark, we will design and build a modern media company with the scale to compete and the right strategy to unlock organic and external growth opportunities.”
