STERLINGTON, La. (KNOE) – The Town of Sterlington is getting ready for baseball tournament season, which begins in February.
Sterlington Mayor Matt Talbert says he is excited for the economic growth to come from the tournament season.
“Sports Complex not only gives our resident children a place to go out and play ball and and enjoy themselves, but we bring in people from really all 50 states. We have a softball, adult Men’s and women’s softball league that played and they were flying people in from all over the United States, including Hawaii to play out there. So bringing those tax dollars in from other states and they’re staying here, they’re eating here. They’re buying stuff from our stores here. That’s very important to the economics of the town of Sterlington,” said Talbert.
New changes to the complex include and playground and new nets on the baseball field.
