Nevada Lieutenant Governor Stavros Anthony announced Wednesday morning his intent to form a task force he says will protect women’s sports.
In the announcement, Lt. Governor Anthony says the task force will work with athletes, coaches, educators, and policymakers to advance policies that prioritize fairness, protect women’s safe spaces, uphold opportunities for women, and preserve the integrity of competition.
“Nevadans have made it clear that they do not want men taking female athletes’ spots on sports teams, stealing athletic titles and records from women, and taking their daughters’ scholarship opportunities, this Task Force is crucial to safeguard the future of women’s athletics and ensure that the playing field remains level for all.”

“Women’s sports represent so much more than competition, sports are about empowerment, resilience, and the pursuit of excellence. Generations of women have worked tirelessly so female athletes can compete, earn scholarships, and gain the recognition they deserve. This Task Force will address emerging challenges and work to preserve opportunities for current and future generations of female athletes. ”
