ERIE — The Eisenhower Lady Knights made quick work of Rocky Grove by opening up a 20-point 1st quarter lead and never looked back as they defeated the Orioles 71-26 in the championship game of the Barringer Classic Holiday Tournament held at Iroquois High School over the weekend.
Clara Steinberg’s 26 points and fellow junior teammate Lainey Font’s 24 points led the way for Eisenhower.
Steinberg was named the Tournament MVP as she totaled 56 points with ten 3-point shots. Font was named to the all-tournament team as she added 43 points and six 3-pointers.
Eisenhower’s Morgan Zaffino received the Sportsmanship Award from the directors of the tournament.
“Morgan works so hard and hustles at every practice,” Eisenhower head coach D.J. Steinberg stated. “I am happy the director’s saw that, anyone that knows or has coached Morgan knows how hard she works, her hustle and team first attitude are what defines her.”
The Lady Knights are back in action this Friday when they welcome Johnsonburg for a 6:30 game.
