ATLANTA – The Georgia State Senate Committee for Protecting Women’s Sports has adopted five new recommendations aimed at ensuring fair competition for female athletes.
Lt. Gov. Burt Jones, who established the committee in August, stated that his priority is to create a "fair and level playing field" for women in sports across the state. Among the approved recommendations is a proposal to enact statutes prohibiting biological males from competing in women’s sports.
Another recommendation calls for schools hosting or sponsoring sporting events to provide separate changing and dressing facilities for male and female athletes. The committee's recommendations are part of an ongoing effort to address fairness and safety in women’s athletics.
