The Rolling Stones’ Hackney Diamonds Tour left Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in second place for nightly ticket prices.
For the past year and a half, the Blank Space singer has captured several headlines for her iconic stadium tour. She closed her time on the road feeling “burnt out” after performing for 149 crowds and making $2 billion in revenue.
Despite the tour being the first to cross the 10-digit threshold, it didn’t take long for the news to turn their attention elsewhere, especially when it has to do with the iconic 1960s band The Rolling Stones.
While Swift was on the road, so was the rock group. They were promoting their 2023 album Hackney Diamonds, which was the first the band produced in 18 years.
With just 18 shows, The Rolling Stones were able to surpass one of Swift’s tour records. According to Pollstar’s annual Voice of Live review, the group made the most per night in the last 12 months. The rock band averaged a single-night revenue of $13,068,843. Swift made about $12,000 less than the group on a normal night.
They charged about $315 per ticket while Swift’s tickets were priced around $230.
Nonetheless, Swift still shined with an ending revenue of $2 billion, an amount that was over double what Elton John, the previous recordholder, made during his five-year Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour. The Stones were no match for beating her overall revenue as they finished the tour taking $295 million home.
Regardless of the numbers, the rock group and singer both contributed tremendously to this year’s music industry.
