The 2025 NFL draft order is becoming clearer as the 2024 NFL season winds to a close. However, the Las Vegas Raiders reminded everyone that the order remains volatile even with just a handful of games left in the regular season.
The Raiders beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 19-14 to reorganize the top of the 2025 NFL draft. Before the win, Las Vegas was in the running for the No. 1 pick. After it, the New York Giants have the clear-cut inside track to it while several other teams moved up the board as well.
The Raiders dropping from the projected No. 2 pick to the No. 6 pick could have a big-time impact on the draft order. The New England Patriots now sit at No. 2, and since they don’t need a quarterback, that could be a logical landing spot for Travis Hunter.
It could also become a tradeable asset, as teams looking to move up for either Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders could be willing to give the Patriots a solid deal for the pick.
Either way, the 2025 draft figures to be unpredictable. There aren’t as many high-end quarterbacks in this year’s crop and there aren’t a lot of blue-chip players either. As a result, teams may end up with drastically different boards, especially when assessing the potential first-round picks..
